A declared hash that the local dump contradicts is not one situation. An
existence platform never reads the bytes, so withholding the file lets an
upstream list error remove something the frontend would have loaded; a
hash platform would reject it, so shipping it is pointless.
The mode now decides, at every point that had an opinion: pack building,
core complement, emulator packs, manifests, conformance and
_intentional_hash_exclusion. verify.find_undeclared_files follows, since
verify and generate_pack must agree file for file.
Also here: resolution reports which evidence matched rather than a flat
"exact", a path or filename can no longer override a declared hash, and
safe_extract_zip treats a Windows backslash as the separator it is
instead of refusing the archive.
Run ruff check --fix: remove unused imports (F401), fix f-strings
without placeholders (F541), remove unused variables (F841), fix
duplicate dict key (F601).
Run isort --profile black: normalize import ordering across all files.
Run ruff format: apply consistent formatting (black-compatible) to
all 58 Python files.
3 intentional E402 remain (imports after require_yaml() must execute
after yaml is available).
Move verification logic to generate_pack.py --verify-packs (single
source of truth). test_pack_integrity.py is now a thin wrapper that
calls the CLI. Pipeline step 6/8 uses the same CLI entry point.
Renumber all pipeline steps 1-8 (was skipping from 5 to 8/9).
Update generate_site.py with pack integrity test documentation.
Extract each platform ZIP to tmp/ (real filesystem, not /tmp tmpfs)
and verify every declared file exists at the correct path with the
correct hash per the platform's native verification mode.
Handles ZIP inner content verification (checkInsideZip, md5_composite,
inner ROM MD5) and path collision deduplication.
Integrated as pipeline step 6/8. Renumber all pipeline steps to be
sequential (was skipping from 5 to 8).
sparse clone upstream repos, parse BIOS root sets from C source,
cache as JSON, merge into emulator profiles with backup.
covers macro expansion, version detection, subset profile protection.
resolve_platform_cores() links platforms to their cores via
three strategies: all_libretro, explicit list, system ID
fallback. Pack generation always includes core requirements
beyond platform baseline. Case-insensitive dedup prevents
conflicts on Windows/macOS. Data dir strip_components fixes
doubled paths for Dolphin and PPSSPP caches.
verify.py output now uses platform-native terminology:
- md5 platforms: X/Y OK, N untested, M missing
- existence platforms: X/Y present, M missing
Each problem shows (required/optional) from platform YAML.
Core gaps section summarizes undeclared files by severity:
- required NOT in repo: critical gaps needing sourcing
- required in repo: can be added to platform config
- optional: informational
Consistency check in pipeline.py updated to match new format.
All 7 platforms verified, consistency OK across verify and pack.
scripts/pipeline.py runs the full retrobios pipeline in one command:
1. generate_db --force (rebuild database.json)
2. refresh_data_dirs (update data directories, skippable with --offline)
3. verify --all (check all platforms)
4. generate_pack --all (build ZIP packs)
5. consistency check (verify counts == pack counts per platform)
Flags: --offline, --skip-packs, --include-archived, --include-extras.
Summary table shows OK/FAILED per step with total elapsed time.
