Abdessamad Derraz bb19a6d5cf feat: profile what RetroBat and RetroPie run
100 emulator names the two platforms run had no profile, so their packs carried nothing for them. Each was read from the platform's own launcher or scriptmodule: the same program as an existing profile takes the name in cores:, a different build gets its own profile read from that version, a launcher or self-contained game goes to remove_cores, and the rest are new profiles written from their source or shipped binary. The files they need that the collection lacked are collected from the upstream distributions. Bungie and splitwolf trees are read by path and stay out of dedup.

PC port of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask built on the decompilation,
by HarbourMasters. The game runs from assets extracted out of the user's
N64 or GameCube Collector's Edition ROM into mm.o2r, plus the port's own
archive 2ship.o2r, on the libultraship runtime. ZAPDTR and OTRExporter
perform the extraction inside the executable.
RetroBat installs the 5.0.1 release ("Battler Bravo"): its 2ship.7z carries
the 2ship.exe, 2ship.o2r, gamecontrollerdb.txt and assets tree of
2Ship-Battler-Bravo-Win64.zip byte for byte, so the profile is pinned to the
5.0.1 tag. Its launcher passes the ROM on the command line when mm.o2r is
absent (only a .z64, .n64 or .v64 file, else it copies the ROM beside the
executable), and deletes mm.o2r first when the major version stored in it
differs from the one in 2ship.o2r, so the archive is regenerated.
ref: emulatorLauncher Generators/PortsLauncher.Configuration.cs:1528-1564
Startup:
1. 2ship.o2r is located in the application directories and its stored
port version must equal the build in major, minor and patch. A
missing or outdated 2ship.o2r shows an error and exits
(mm/2s2h/BenPort.cpp:149-153, 345-370).
2. mm.o2r is regenerated when its stored major version differs from the
build (mm/2s2h/BenPort.cpp:282, 958-960).
3. Without mm.o2r a ROM given on the command line is extracted.
Otherwise .z64, .n64 and .v64 files in the install and data folders
are offered, then a file dialog. With no mm.o2r at the end the port
shows an error and exits (mm/2s2h/BenPort.cpp:447-540).
4. mm.o2r is added to the archive manager (mm/2s2h/BenPort.cpp:612-616).
A mods folder is created beside it when absent
(mm/2s2h/BenPort.cpp:256-262).
ROM check: the size must be 32, 54 or 64 MiB, the data is converted to
big-endian order whatever the dump format, the word at 0x10 picks the
version (0x5354631C US 1.0, 0xB443EB08 US GC), and a CRC-32C of the whole
converted image must be 0x96F49400 or 0xBB434787. Compressed files are
refused. The extraction reads assets/xml/<version>, assets/filelists and
assets/Config_<version>.xml from the install folder, which ship with the
release (1329 files).
ref: mm/2s2h/Extractor/Extract.cpp:54-66, 298-299, 307-357, 580-616,
mm/2s2h/Extractor/Extract.h:19-21
The two SHA-1 values below are those the repository publishes for the
.z64 forms of the two accepted ROMs (docs/supportedHashes.json). The code
itself only checks the CRC-32C, so .n64 and .v64 dumps of the same ROMs
are accepted too.
libultraship is a submodule pinned at 5.0.1 to
7cb10226e7875ec48ceec2f841d00afd84eef964. Its citations are at that
revision.
