Profiles, the wiki, comments, docstrings, command output and schema descriptions carried em-dashes, clause-joining semicolons, unicode arrows, box-drawing banners and check-mark glyphs. Each sentence was rewritten rather than having its character swapped. Hashes, paths, source_ref values and every cited file:line are unchanged, which a comparison of each parsed profile against the previous revision confirms. validate_pr comments now say PASS and FAIL in words, and source_ref values in a profile's structured blocks render as code. test_prose_style fails if any of these comes back, in tracked files or in the generated site.

retro_init() points filesys.path_firmware at the frontend system
|
|
directory and names the BIOS of every region
|
|
(ref: libretro/libretro.cpp:615-641). The ST-V BIOS is picked by SMPC
|
|
area: Japan, Asia NTSC, Europe PAL, and North America for every other
|
|
area (ref: mednafen/ss/ss.cpp:1436-1446, mednafen/ss/smpc.h:32-40).
|
|
A Saturn disc takes sega_101.bin for Japan and Asia NTSC and
|
|
mpr-17933.bin otherwise (ref: mednafen/ss/ss.cpp:1447-1453).
|
|
|
|
The loose file is tried first and must be exactly 524288 bytes. When it
|
|
is missing or the wrong size, the same name is looked up at the root of
|
|
stvbios.zip in the system directory, then without the leading slash
|
|
(ref: mednafen/ss/ss.cpp:1455-1491). With ss.bios_sanity on, the
|
|
default, a file named like one of the five Saturn BIOS images must
|
|
match its SHA-256. The ST-V images are not in that table and only the
|
|
size check applies (ref: mednafen/ss/ss.cpp:1493-1540, 2549).
|
|
|
|
Saturn games that need the KoF 95 or Ultraman ROM cartridge, and the
|
|
Action Replay 4M Plus cart type, open their ROM from the firmware
|
|
directory under the default names below
|
|
(ref: mednafen/ss/ss.cpp:1348-1350, 1404-1412, 2542-2544).
