get/<platform>/ lists the files of the current release pack, read from
release.json, or gives the command for a setup without one. The README,
setup pages, Get your files and the release notes link it instead of
asset URLs, which die with each deleted tag. Setups without a ZIP say so
with the command beside it, and validate_site checks every get/ page.
generate_site.py writes the Starlight project in website/ and nothing
else: mkdocs.yml, the MkDocs hooks, theme overrides and stylesheet go,
and the wiki is written in Starlight's syntax. Both workflows set up
Node with the official actions/setup-node pinned by commit, run npm ci
from the committed lockfile, build with the strict link validator and
check the result with validate_site.py.
The search weighs a page by what it answers: Start here pages first,
a system page's cards and file names before a guide citing them, deep
guides, launchers, aliases and frozen copies after. Status badges,
hash blocks and the export change lists leave the index. The ranking
sits at the centre of a range where the 13 queries of search_gate.py
all answer, in the search box itself.
839 pages, every URL and 45,611 ids match the MkDocs build. The tests
read the Starlight content and syntax.
Tables with a download link stack on phones, the browser check covers
the lookup, a hash typed in the search, breadcrumbs, previous and next
across tabs, glossary terms and the 404 hint. validate_site budgets the
Pagefind index pieces and takes the base path without mkdocs.yml. A
test holds the picker to install.narrow() on 180 selections.
validate_site.py fails a page over 1 MB of HTML, a search index over
8.5 MB (1.7 MB gzip), a skipped heading level, a table header without
text, a script from another host and a diagram drawn at runtime. The
limits sit above what the site now measures (0.88 MB, 7.2 MB, 1.43 MB),
each with its reason, and each has a test.
scripts/sitediagrams.py writes the explainer, install flow, verification modes, MinUI card, pipeline and data layer diagrams as inline SVG from the registry, the platform files, the install manifests and the pipeline step list. A page asks for one with an image comment, which the decoration pass resolves. The two mermaid diagrams of the architecture page are replaced, so no page loads mermaid from unpkg.
Platform logos and system icons are copied once by fetch_site_images.py with their source and owner recorded, and the build rewrites the remote links to the copies. validate_site refuses an image from another host. Three registry logos named a personal avatar instead of the project's (RomM, ROCKNIX, MiSTer FPGA) and MyMinUI's was a GitHub identicon, now dropped.
One 1200x630 sharing card per section, a 404 page with search and the two entry pages, and a list of screenshots that need a real device.
--emulator accepts a buildbot core name from a profile's cores:, and a
mistyped target gets the closest names instead of every target. diff_truth
shows destinations and reports unpaired entries as evidence, not removals.
The verify summary counts discrepancies, a shared destination names both
systems, a truth hash conflict names both cores, and pipeline steps carry
their place in the real run instead of N/8. Every GitHub API caller takes
the token from github_token(), which falls back to gh auth token.
The nested list structure stays, so each label renders bold instead of showing its asterisks. The platform details block becomes a list as well: its labels were paragraphs followed by items with no blank line between them. validate_site now reports any asterisks that reach a rendered page outside code, which runs in the deploy and in pipeline step 8b.
argparse completed a prefix into the only flag starting with it:
slots.py --emulator read profiles from a directory named after the
emulator and reported nothing, and pipeline.py --all built every pack
variant. Every parser now refuses an abbreviation.
validate_site reached complexity 43 doing three things at once. The
per-page checks and the link resolution are now separate functions and
the caller keeps only the cross-page duplicate check, which cannot run
until every page has been seen.
The first attempt left the link pass calling a closure that had moved,
and running it against the real site did not catch that: no page there
has a broken link, so the error path never ran. The unit test covering
a deliberately broken fragment did.
JSON Schemas for the database, install and pack manifests, target
manifests, site API envelopes and stats, plus the semantic invariants a
schema cannot express: declared totals matching their lists, no
destination both installed and omitted, database keys matching their
sha1. validate_site.py checks the rendered HTML for metadata, headings,
image alternatives, duplicate ids and unresolved local links.
Pack manifests are read from inside the generated archives, where
generate_pack writes them, rather than from a dist/ glob that matches
nothing.
Emulator and platform schemas gain additionalProperties: false, and
cores[] plus contents[].name must be strings: an unquoted 81 or 01 in
YAML parses as a number and stops matching the upstream name.
